Bath soaks dissolve into bathwater: mineral salts such as Epsom or Dead Sea salt, milk powders, clays, oat and dried botanicals, sometimes with oils or a gentle foaming agent.
Powdered and salt soaks contain little or no water, so their ingredient lists are often short and recognisable.
Reading the label
- Epsom salt
- On a label Epsom salt is "magnesium sulfate". Dead Sea salt is often listed as "maris sal".
- Botanicals in the bath
- Whole flowers and herbs are usually listed by their botanical name and plant part, for example "Lavandula angustifolia flower".
